Leadership Team


Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) is the company that operates Queen Beatrix International Airport. The AAA staff of over 200 employees is guided and supervised by the following managers that form the Executive and Leadership Team:


Joost Meijs - Chief Executive Officer
 
Joost Meijs is the Chief Executive Officer of Aruba Airport Authority N.V. since September 2019. Prior to working in Aruba, Mr. Meijs was for 11 years the Chief Executive Officer of Eindhoven Airport N.V. in the Netherlands. Prior to working in the aviation sector, Mr. Meijs had several senior management positions in the exposition & trade fair industry at VNU Exhibitions Europe in the Netherlands and at Jaarbeurs Brasil Ltda in Brazil. Mr. Meijs is an experienced Chief Executive Officer with over 20 years of experience in senior leadership and board positions (as executive and nonexecutive). Mr. Meijs graduated from the Economic Faculty at the University of Groningen.

Jurgen R. Benschop - Chief Operations Officer
 
Jurgen R. Benschop currently assumes the position of Chief Operating Officer in the Executive Management Team of Aruba Airport Authority N.V. responsible for the Management of Queen Beatrix International Airport.
Mr. Benschop is the past chairman of the Airports Council International (ACI) Latin American & Caribbean, Safety Committee and is still active in this committee today. Mr. Benschop is also a member of the ACI World Safety and Technical Committee and assists ACI together with other airports around the world to produce best practices materials to help airports in raising the bar on safety and operational aspects.
Mr. Benschop’s educational background consists of a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Business Administration; a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Science, both from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, FL. Mr. Benschop also holds an Associate of Science degree in Hotel Management and a IATA Diploma in Airport Strategic Management.
Mr. Benschop holds an FAA Private Pilot’s License with both single and multi-engine ratings.

Barbara J.E. Brown - Chief Commercial Officer
 
Barbara J.E. Brown is the Chief Commercial Officer at Aruba Airport Authority N.V. managing the aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenues and its commercial activities, the air service development and the PR related activities at the airport.
Ms. Brown obtained her bachelor’s degree at the Hogeschool of Arnhem in 1996. She joined Aruba Airport Authority N.V. in 1997 as Commercial Analyst. After 4 years in service Ms. Brown became the Commerce Manager managing all commercial activities at the airport. In 2007 she became Business unit Manager Terminal which included the commercial part of the airport business, the landside and terminal operations activities and the airport’s air service development.

Aisha M. Anthony - Chief Financial Officer
 
Mrs. Aisha M. Anthony is the Chief Financial Officer at Aruba Airport Authority N.V. and forms part of the Executive Management Team. Mrs. Anthony joined Aruba Airport Authority N.V. in April 2009 and with her team of about 20 personnel she is responsible within the company for the Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Planning & Control, Payroll, Risk Management including Insurance and Claims, and Business Compliance. Mrs. Anthony holds a Florida CPA license since 1996 and maintains her CPE education up to par. In that same year Mrs. Anthony also obtained her Master’s Degree in Accounting from the Florida International University in Miami Florida, and in 1992 she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with Magna Cum Laude honors from the University of South Florida in Tampa Florida. Previous to joining Aruba Airport Authority N.V., Mrs. Anthony had worked for 16 years at KPMG as an external auditor and her last function she assumed was the Director of Audit and Office Leader for the KPMG Aruba Office. 

Angeline Flemming - Director Health, Safety and Sustainability
 

Angeline Flemming has been with Aruba Airport Authority N.V. since 2004, and is currently the Director of Health, Safety, and Sustainability. She oversees regulatory compliance for the Airport on above subjects and serves as the Airport’s liaison for local and international regulators and authorities.

After completing her studies at the “Nederlandse Politie Academie” (Law Enforcement Management) in Holland in 1991 and prior to joining Aruba Airport Authority N.V., Mrs. Flemming held several leadership positions in the Police Force and the Internal Affairs Department of the Public Prosecutors Office of the Government of Aruba.

Mrs. Flemming leads AAA’s efforts to incorporate the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into AAA’s strategic goal and company operations. Mrs. Flemming also leads AAA’s “Wings of Hope” team, that focuses on community outreach programs and projects based on UN’s SDGs.

Mrs. Flemming is advisor to the Dutch Caribbean Cooperation of Airports, a collaboration between the CEO’s of all Dutch Caribbean Airports.
