Contributing to a healthier community
ORANJESTAD – Aruba Airport Authority N.V.’s (AAA)Wings of Hope (WoH) team is organizing the 3rd AUA Airport Runway Run 2025 on Sunday May 18, 2025, where a total of 150 runners will have the opportunity to experience a unique event and give back to the community.
AAA’s WoH focuses on executing socially responsible projects with United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle to contribute to the well-being, further development, and sustainability of the Aruban community. As part of WoH’s 2025-year plan, the 3rd AUA Airport Runway Run 2025 will focus on raising funds for 2 foundations including Fundacion Autismo Aruba (FAA) and Ban Uni Man Pa Cria Nos Muchanan, which foundations were chosen by AAA employees who voted for these foundations through a company poll.
Fundacion Autismo Aruba’s mission is to advocate for the needs of people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and the empowerment of professionals from every field directly or indirectly working with individuals with ASD and empowering families of individuals with ASD to lead a happy life. It is estimated that 1 in 100 children are on the autism spectrum worldwide. FAA is responsible for advocating, creating awareness, lobbying and capacity building through campaigns.
Ban Uni Man Pa Cria Nos Muchanan is an NGO, which was established with the purpose of feeding breakfast to children in need in school. Although originally intended for grammar school children, the foundation serves breakfast to children in kindergarten schools as well as secondary schools, such as EPB and MAVO. A total of 750 children are currently enrolled in the program.
The 3rd AUA Airport Runway Run 2025 will have a total of 150 runners, and the 5KM run will start from Runway 11 to Runway 29 and back towards Runway 11. The AUA Airport Runway Run will start at 6:00AM and finish at 7:00AM.
