Construction Project Controller

As a Construction Project Controller you report to the CFO and you will be responsible to verify that the revenues and expenditures related to the Construction Project Gateway 2030 are completed on time and within budgetary guidelines.


  • A Bachelor Business Degree in accounting and/or complemented in finance. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Controller in a real estate development or construction company or project.
  • In depth knowledge of finance and economy, budgets and forecasts, project management and construction accounting.
  • Strong business partner and commercial awareness.
  • Thorough knowledge of management accounting principles.
  • Strong systems skills, and particularly advanced Excel.
  • A solid understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and/or accounting pronouncements.
  • Good verbal and written reporting and communication skills in English, Dutch, and Papiamento.

Main tasks include:

  • Set-up of Project Administration in an ERP financial package and design the required accounting and management financial reports.
  • Develop accounting procedures, job cost budgets and reports on timescale and budget control across all phases of the Gateway 2030 project, including detailed cost, revenue and KPI analysis.
  • Work with the Project Management Organization to ensure accurate and timely preparation of job cost data in order to prepare weekly cost reports for the Gateway 2030 project, and to be a sparring partner in all phases of the project.
  • Maintain job cost ledgers for all projects under construction related to Gateway 2030 project and assess the cost and profitability throughout planning, construction and finalization phases of Gateway 2030 project.
  • The provision of high quality project information and analysis for decision making and project performance improvement purposes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial systems and processes and contribute to the delivery of these improvements, both at project and company level.
  • Cultivate effective relationships with all relevant business customers (project leaders, program manager, line manager and other stakeholders).
  • Be a business “sparring” partner for project leaders in all stages of a project.

Job Offer:

A job in a dynamic team for the duration of the project (estimate 5 years) and with the possibility of extension for an indefinite period. The maximum salary for this job is AWG 9.415,00 depending on education and experience. Furthermore we offer good secondary working conditions.
