Welcome to Aruba Airport’s Check-In Guide

Whether you’re flying to the U.S. or another international destination, this quick guide will help you move smoothly through check-in, control, and security.

Passenger Flow Control for U.S.-Bound Travelers

To ensure an efficient and comfortable experience, passenger flow control measures are in place for all U.S.-bound travelers.

  • Passengers traveling to the United States may enter the U.S. Check-In Terminal no earlier than 3 hours before their scheduled departure time.
  • Entry times are managed through a color-coded system shared by Aruba Airport, based on your flight’s scheduled departure.
  • If you arrive earlier than your permitted time, you will be asked to wait outside the terminal until your group is called.

If Your Flight Is Delayed

If your flight is delayed, you are still required to arrive at the airport according to your original scheduled departure time, not the updated (delayed) time.
For further guidance, please contact your airline directly.

Step 1: Check-In

  • Online or Mobile Check-In

You can check in online or through your airline’s app up to 24 hours before your flight.

  • Have your boarding pass (digital or printed) ready.
  • If you have checked luggage, visit your airline’s check-in counter or, for U.S. flights, use the self-service kiosk to print bag tags and drop off your bags at the Self-Bag Drop.
  • Self-Bag Drop is available only for U.S.-bound passengers.

  • Self-Service Kiosks (U.S. Flights Only)

At the U.S. Check-In Terminal, use a kiosk to:

  • Check in and print your boarding pass.
  • Print luggage tags and use the Self-Bag Drop.

If you have no checked luggage, go directly to Passport & Boarding Pass Control.

  • Airline Check-In Counters

Prefer in-person help? Visit your airline’s counter.
Staff will check you in, issue your boarding pass, and take your luggage.

Tip: Traveling with carry-on only? Once you have your boarding pass, you can skip the counter and head straight to Boarding Pass & Passport Access Control to save time during busy hours.

Step 2: Boarding Pass & Passport Access Control

After check-in, proceed to the Boarding Pass & Passport Access Control booth to be granted access to our restricted areas meant for departing passengers only.

  • Keep your passport and boarding pass ready (digital or paper).

Follow the signs for your flight type:

  • Non-U.S. Flights → Non-U.S. Control Area
  • U.S. Flights → U.S. Control Area

Step 3: Immigration

Next, go to Immigration for passport and boarding pass verification.

  • Have your passport and boarding pass ready.
  • Traveling with minors? Please use a staffed immigration booth.
  • Eligible travelers may use the e-gates for faster processing.

Make sure all required travel documents are ready before joining the line.

Step 4: Security Screening

All passengers go through the same security checkpoint.

Before screening:

  • Remove all liquid bottles (water, drinks, lotions, etc.) and place them in the blue bins before entering.
  • Liquids and gels must be in a clear quart-sized zip-top bag with containers of 3 oz (100 ml) or less.
  • Larger liquids must go in checked luggage.

For more detailed information, please refer to our list of inadmissible items.

After security:

  • Non-U.S. flights: Proceed directly to your gate.
  • U.S. flights: Continue to U.S. Customs & Border Protection (U.S. Pre-Clearance) before heading to your gate.

Step 5: U.S. Customs & Border Protection (U.S. Flights Only)

Aruba offers U.S. Customs and Border Protection (U.S. CBP) Pre-Clearance, allowing you to complete all U.S. immigration and customs procedures before departure.

Once cleared, you’ll arrive in the U.S. as a domestic passenger — no customs or immigration checks required on arrival!

Time-Saving Tips

  • Mobile Passport Control (MPC): Download the free MPC app and complete your details once at the airport to move through U.S. Customs faster.
  • Global Entry: Available at Aruba Airport for enrolled travelers, offering an expedited, contactless experience.
